SHINGLES/POST HERPETIC NEURALGIA
Post Herpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a very painful condition that affects the nerve fibers of the skin as a complication of shingles which are a complication of chickenpox. The post herpetic neuralgia tends to develop when an irritation or damage to the nerves and alters its neurological structure and function.
The sensation may be intense burning or stabbing and it may feel like a shooting pain along the affected nerve. The nerve sends the pain messages because it is either faulty or irritated.
REFLEX SYMPATHETIC DYSTROPHY / COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME
Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition characterized by severe pain, swelling, and changes in the skin, such as the pigmentation and/or texture.
Previously known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), CRPS most commonly develops in an arm or a leg, typically after surgery or as a result of an injury (i.e. a broken bone or sprain). It is a condition that may subsequently spread throughout the body.
PHANTOM LIMB PAIN
Phantom limb pain are sensations that are felt in an area of where an amputated limb used to be. It is a common condition for patients who had an amputation. Almost every patient who has gone through amputation in the first six months after the operation has experienced some form of phantom limb pain.
FIBROMYALGIA
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition that causes pain and tenderness throughout the body. The symptoms may come and go, changing in range and severity from day to day. Fibromyalgia can develop over time following other conditions such as physical trauma, surgery or psychological stress.
DIABETIC & PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY
Peripheral neuropathy, or neuropathy for short, refers to damage to the nerves in the peripheral nervous system, which is a network of nerves that connects the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body. The peripheral nervous system has three types of nerves: motor, autonomous and sensory. These nerves make it possible for you to do things like hear, see, feel, move and even breathe. Damage to these nerves can cause symptoms such as pain, numbness and tingling.
COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME (CRPS/RSD)
Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is an uncommon type of pain. It mostly occurs in the leg or arm, usually after a traumatic injury or stroke. It manifests as a severe chronic pain that is constantly evolving and progressing. The causes of the pain is not always clear, but if diagnosed and treated early, the chances of improvement and pain relief are higher.
